Baptisms are customarily celebrated during weekend liturgies after the 3:30pm Mass on Saturdays. Parents are expected to be parishioners of the parish for at least three months.
A Baptismal Preparation class is required for first-time expectant parents and godparents. The class is held on the third Wednesday of the month, at 7:00 PM. For more information or to sign up, please contact the Rectory office: 513-574-4840.
The following information is very important for the reception of baptism:
At least one parent should be a practicing Catholic.
Parents should be registered in the parish in which they reside. New parents are responsible for their registration and no longer can be registered in their parents’ names.
The guidelines for godparents are: At least one godparent should be a practicing Catholic. If he/she is registered in a parish, other than where the baptism will take place, they must present a letter, and parish seal, from that parish in recognition of his/her membership. A person who is baptized, and belongs to another Christian community, may be a Christian witness, not a godparent. A non-baptized person may not be a witness.
a godparent must be 16 years old and confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church.
